mid-century-modern-wood-spice-rack-a-taste-of-honey
A Taste of Honey | Mid-Century Modern Spice Rack

A Taste of Honey is a mid-century modern spice rack, handmade one at a time from solid American black walnut. Its distinctive stepped-in silhouette takes its cues from mid-century furniture, with clean lines, carefully balanced proportions, and solid brass details that give the piece its character.

The upper section steps back from the deeper lower shelves, creating a striking profile that's just as interesting from the side as it is from the front. Solid brass gallery rails and exposed brass screws add a warm contrast to the walnut. They're part of the design, not an afterthought, and we use solid brass throughout, never plated hardware.

There's practical thinking behind the design, too. The upper shelves are approximately 3 inches deep for everyday spice jars, while the lower section extends to approximately 5 inches. The Large has two taller shelves for larger spice canisters, the Medium has one, and the Small has none. Those canister shelves use walnut retaining rails, secured with brass screws, in place of brass gallery rails.

Each rack is finished in satin lacquer, with the brass lacquered separately to help prevent tarnishing. Other hardwoods and finishes are available by custom order.

We build every A Taste of Honey in our Birmingham, Alabama studio and make a custom wooden shipping crate for each one. And, yes... we take custom orders on this... need it wider? narrower? deeper? send us a message.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0868/9480/5285/files/walnut-mcm-spice-rack-installed-a-taste-of-honey.webp?v=1792843953
