Knife Bar | Gimme Shelter

Wall-mounted magnetic knife storage, handcrafted from solid olive wood.

The Gimme Shelter knife bar is designed to keep kitchen knives secure, visible, and easy to reach while freeing up counter space. Handcrafted from solid olive wood and finished with a food-safe natural tung oil, it offers a warm, durable alternative to mass-produced magnetic strips.

Concealed rare-earth magnets embedded beneath the surface hold knives firmly in place while allowing for smooth, one-handed removal. Magnet placement and spacing are designed to support a range of knife sizes, from everyday chef’s knives to heavier blades like cleavers.

Design & use

  • Strong, concealed rare-earth magnets for secure blade retention
  • Wall-mounted format to reduce counter clutter
  • Minimal profile suited to both modern and traditional kitchens
  • Even blade support to prevent shifting or uneven contact

Knives rest flat against the surface, staying accessible without crowding drawers or blocks.

Materials & finish

  • Crafted from solid olive wood
  • Finished with food-safe, VOC-free natural tung oil
  • Natural grain variation and color shifts are inherent to olive wood and make each piece unique

  • Length: 24 inches
  • Width: 3.5 inches
  • Thickness: ¾ inch

  • Blade support: Suitable for a variety of knife sizes, including cleavers up to approximately 12 oz

A note on magnetic storage

Magnetic knife storage works best in adult kitchens where knives won’t be brushed or bumped accidentally. Install at a comfortable height and away from high-traffic areas.
